Position: Counselor/Psychotherapist
Job description
- Complete mental health assessments
- Develop individual treatment/
- Provide counseling/therapy services
to individuals and families - Plan and participate in group
counseling and support session as needed - Coordinate activities and services
with supervisor - Maintain accurate and confidential
records on clients - Work closely with schools and other
service providers - Provide follow-up contacts with
clients - Refer clients and provide case
coordination to other mental health services - Participate in staff training and
development - Report all activities to program
director and or program manger - Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work
or mental health counseling preferred. - Have completed a mental
health counseling internship. - Specialized training and/or
experience with cross-cultural training techniques. - Familiarity with local providers of
mental health, alcohol, and drug abuse - counseling and
treatment. - Knowledge of local Haitian
communities, organizations, and issues. - Experience in the provision
of mental health counseling services to refugees. - Ability to work in a multicultural
environment. - Familiarity with local social
services for aging and youth. - Familiarity with counseling and
social services available at local schools - Excellent written and oral
skills. - Bilingual in English
and Creole. - Ability to work independently and
to meet deadlines. - Full use of an automobile during
working hours and a valid Florida driver’s license.
Requirements: Must have or complete a clean DCF
background check and fingerprinting prior to employment. She/he agrees to
complete 10 Hours yearly in-service within the contract year.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
